How these are found
Vakri runs from the station where Guru's daily motion turns backward to the station where it turns forward again, each found to the minute from the app's own positions. Udaya and asta are by the Surya Siddhanta's rule (ch. ix, Burgess and Whitney 1860): the degrees of time between the Sun's and the graha's crossing of the horizon against the graha's own limit (Guru 11, Shani 15, Mangala 17, Shukra 8 or 10, Budha 12 or 14), read at Ujjain; the moment given is the twilight in which it is first seen or first lost, as the app's time-by-events steps to it. Asta by longitude is while Guru is within 11° of the Sun (the combustion table of BOB-Nakshatra, decision 37), as the graha's card in the app shows it. Longitudes are sidereal (Lahiri) in the app's frame. What a vakri or asta graha means for a chart is not given here.
In the app

- TODAY: every graha's state now, vakri and asta
- MY CHART: Guru over your own chart (gochara)
