The masa and the adhika month

A masa here runs from one new Moon to the next (amanta) and takes the name of the first rashi the Sun enters in it; a month with no sankranti is adhika (added), one with two is kshaya (the Calendar Reform Committee's rule, 1955).

Checked against Drik Panchang's masas from 2021 to 2031, adhika months included. The purnimanta naming, used in much of North India, gives the dark half the next month's name; the pages give the amanta names.
