How these are found

Each koota by the app's own Milan (MY CHART), whose rules follow Muhurta Chintamani (Rama Daivajna, English translation), marriage sanskaras, pp. 157-177, each tested against its page. The kootas need each Moon's Nakshatra, its rashi and, in Dhanu and Makara, which half of the rashi (the text's Vashya changes at 15°), so each row serves every Moon in its part of the band: nine Nakshatras lie in two rashis, and Purva Ashadha and Shravana in two halves of one. A total marked * uses one of two cells of the text the app holds as open questions: Graha Maitri between Budha and Shani, which the text scores 5 both ways where the friendships give 4, and the Yoni of a Nakula bride with a Vanara groom, 4 where the reverse is 2, probably a slip in the printing. These are the text's points from the two Moons alone: what they mean for a marriage, and the exceptions a tradition allows, are not decided here. "Open" is a koota the text leaves open for the pair. A full Milan of two births, each koota with its reasons, is in the app.
